which Primes for Full body shot with gd bokeh?

I'm aiming for such bokeh, was contemplating the 200mm 2.8 but i think the 135 could achieve similar bokeh at shorter distance since its F2.
I wont be using the 135L indoors and there will be no other photographer infront of me when i shoot.

maybe you can rent or borrow or steal or buy the 135L to try out as the handshake is obvious on viewfinder since its at 216mm on cropped even for me on FF sometimes 1/400++ the image is still blur partly is my handshake or the model movement.

best is either you get a monopod or you train the hard way on models and not all pics are sharp @ 100% =)

not trying to ask you get a FF and not many ppl might not like a FF

hmm bokeh looks good but i still prefer my 135L =P

Bro... Of course, considering the weight of the two lens your 135L would be a better choice unless I use a monopod.

haha monopod is a must for a 216mm on cropped unless your handling of handshake is damn power..

Had used once (had a tripod that can be used as a monopod), end up give up as it's limit the angle & composition. My solution is IS and Burst. :bsmilie:

Thought I'd post some photos!

I think these were with 85mm...forgot what aperture I used on these, I'll check for you, but the my cable is at home and it doesn't work with Windows 7.

I love the full bodied bokeh,.. may I ask what body and lens you use for this kind of shots? I love to learn.. thanks

85mm F1.8 and stand further back...
Ur 50mm F1.4 can do, just tell your model tostand further away from the background that u wanted it to be blur.

Oh yeah, TS, state ur budget, else the selection of lens is gonna be more and more expensive.

Soon, someone will recommend this. :bsmilie::bsmilie::bsmilie:

“OMG creammmmmyyyy bokeh… BBB!"

Hilarious.

I have tried and seen on a crop body. 85 f1.2, Fantastic. It is even better than my 85 f1.8 and 50 f1.4. Not sure for other lens.

Yes...the price is fantastic too...

Hi! Sorry, I did not see this thread for a while - so I did not respond until now!

Body: 1V
Lens: 85L (quite sure it was this one... I saved my shooting data but can't access it right now).

Super nice...! My next lens...! haha

I hope to achieve the 200f2L quality with a cheaper and smaller alternative. But this lens is hard to beat and is really causing me sleepless nights. Some CSers here own this mighty lens and I am still waiting for them to post some real photos.

lightning has this. and i think he posted some pictures before from his 200f2....too rich for my blood...use the 135f2 to suppress it

hahaha....actually the 135 comes in real close...

if post processing is fine with you, try "ryan brenizer method". 50mm 1.8 will do the job just fine.

From the link I posted, the 200f2L is still unique. The photos have that special effect, that dreamy yet pulverizing look that makes one mesmerized. Heard and read about your repertoire and am waiting for you to demonstrate the unique qualities of this mighty lens.

Actually, you do not know if the photographer has done any post processing or not. ;)

Those photos impressed me and honestly, that was the first time I was impressed with a Canon lens on Canon body. So, irregardless of what was done to them, they captivated me and I think the lens and the photographer played equally important roles.
