Actually, sometimes I read Japanese magazines like Nippon Camera or Photo Essay Monthly. They sometimes provide a lot of refreshing ideas for new techniques and subject. In fact, Japanese photographers are among the very best in the world.
However, their pictures tend to be a bit too localized and symbolic. You will see that a large number of their pictures focused on cultural themes or symbolic sites in Japan, ie Mt Fuji,
Tokyo Tower, Kyoto etc etc.
When you look at different magazines from different countries, you will start to realised that the styles of British, American and Japanese photographers varies quite wildly from one another.
