anyone knows whether the TC will work just as well with the AF-D 80-200(2 touch)?
You will have to modify an AFS TC before you can mount it on the 80-200. There is an tab that restricts you from mounting it on any non-AFS lens.
I had the Nikon TC 1.7 and rented the 1.4 ... and finally given up on TC for the 70-200Vr.
As I can't get what I normally get from the 70 200 hand held.
I'm Still thinking of getting the Nikon 200 400 F4 $$$$ ...but for now just move closer to the birds (which is free). Forget about using TC if you are looking for IQ and speed on the 70 200VR.
Those pics are taken with no TC hand held on bad lighting day.
The ones that support AF function are only for AF-S lenses.
WTF is it with the big images? not everyone has a fast link to the net. :complain:
Wah.. Superb shots.. How did u get so close without the birds knowing?
A bird costume will do the trick:thumbsup: but still cost $$
They normally don't fly away from their feeding area during their feeding time or wait for them at their feeding area. I move very slowy toward my target with the 70 200vr and Control my breathing before I shoot.... that what I learnt from SAF (now I know those SAF trainning are useful ).... I was a MG gunner then and the mg is about 15KG I think, that was 10yrs back..... use my gloves for turtle crawl

Thanks
I modify a eyecup with the dk21 m and dk17m that help me to see better and all this small things work well for what I shoot.

ROFL!!!
I guess if the birds are fooled by those suits, there must be some truth to the term "bird brained"
