No regret on getting my first L-lense 70-200 MK II IS after a few tried, it is really a good piece of len...
With the battery grip on + Blackrapid strap on, I like to carry it around ..

I'm planning to get a black rapid for carrying the 70-200 too but worried of the swinging, is it comfortable to carry it with black rapid?

I think there is no easy solution. Try it before you buy. I only used my strap once as I could not tolerate the swinging and banging as I usually work close to metal structures. Now I mainly use a shoulder bag.

True, I'm oso worried about the swinging too. Try before buying is the way to go ;)

I second that.

I have decided to stay with the tried, tested and reliable old fashioned shoulder and neck strap.

There are one mount on camera body/battery grip ... i usually mount on the 70-200 body ... been using for almost a year..

I saw carry speed from artworkfoto looks very strong and feels very good too, u all might want to take a look at it

Think this poll needs an update as there are new L zooms - The 24-70 f/2.8 II and f/4 IS.

Thanks for the suggestion. Actually this poll and the poll on primes do not differentiate between Mark I or Mark II. It is just indicative and suggestive for those looking to buy a new L lens. It is not meant to be precise or very prescriptive. Starting a new one would mean everyone has to vote all over again. Anyway I am ok with anything.

You've got a point there but the 24-70 f/4 IS is a new lens. Just remembered this thread when I got mine yesterday.

Im glad with my 50L and 135L.
85L is slow when focusing. Not to my liking.
Perhaps a 14L in future for super wide angle shoots.

Just bought the 24-70mm f2.8L II... Freaking sharp IQ. But a bit too ex. Haha.

Ya a bit regret. Should go for the tamron. Got vc somemore. Think poison by the red ring. Haha...

VC or non VC i think is depend on individual. VC work best when you are in a slower shutter speed than the required.
instead of getting the Mark 2, i purchase the Mark 1 instead. aka, beer can. lol

Don't regret lah. When you have bought the best, you don't need to spend time always thinking what the results would be like with a better lens. If you have a tight budget then you need to think hard about getting the best bang for your buck. The red ring will also make you feel good.:)

But it is a real shame that after paying so much, there is no image stabilization. :(

hey guys, is it worth while to pay 2.1k for a 6mths old 24-70L II (technogadget set) with b+w filter?

The cheapest I find is $2400 @ mscolor for first hand. So u decide urself n see if it's worth or not. :)

But after using 24-70 myself, I think is not really worth the price, first hand or 2nd hand...
