I heard that the 85L was a tricky lens to use. It requires some time to get used to before good photographs are possible. Did you experience this?
My young daughter is very good with this lens.

Not sure if anyone else find this funny...
Canon name is evolve from the name, Kwanon... the name for Goddness of Mercy, Kwan Yin as we Chinese called it....
So Mercy of Canon sounded a bit interesting to me... lol...
Recently acquired 50L, 85L, 100L. One lens that always stay on my 5D is the 85L.
Extremely sharp with super creamy bokeh. No micro AF adjustment needed as it is perfectly focused at close or far focused. It is a heavy lens, but really shocked with every shots taken. This one has the 3D pop that I used to get from my 50lux and M9P combination.
This is the best Canon prime to me. So good that it is always on my cam, even though it is a 1kg lens.
Canon EF Lens Speculation [CR1] « Canon Rumors
Rumours of a new lightweight 800L II and 135L IS.
What would be a possible dream prime lens that you want Canon to make?
I would start with a 50 f/0.95.![]()
Canon used to make them.
My ex-Leica friend, you must try the 200mm f/2 and the 135mm f/2 also..
Just a bokeh test with 85L II for fun....
Nice! I especially like how it rendered itself in the lower left side. What body?
Using 5D Mark III. Focused on letter "r" and downsized jpg to around 25% of original photo to fit the forum page. No sharpening or adjustment done. Some resolution and sharpness lost as a result of the resizing of the jpg, if not, the AF is scarily spot on with super accuracy and sharpness.
This lens is my favourite now, as it is so sharp and yet the bokeh is so unbelievably smooth!

How much is 135mm f2.0 zeiss in singapore? I am from indonesia by the way.
for 35L, does any one face the same issue (it maybe a issue or normal) that the target is not sharp (slightly blur) at f1.4, but better IQ at f1.8+
am using 6D body center point focus only, some ppl said that it's normal for a f1.4 or f1.2 lens, usually need to down 1 f stop for a great IQ, some ppl said that because the optic axis is slightly moved which makes the f1.2/f1.4 not working well?
How about 50mm f1.4 USM? Any opinion?
