Do note that if you need a lot of 'fire power', and are pushing the SB-900 near or at its max, and risking 'thermal cut-off', you may group up to 3 units of SB-900s and have them all fire together via the CLS. These three plus the one mounted on your camera makes a total of 4. I am sure this is enough 'fire power'.

Fred
4 lights just enough for 4 directions.
i still need one more light source to complete. :)

Actually, those Lithium/Alkaline batteries that are used in the flash can cause overheating. The best is to use an external battery pack. NiMH has lesser issues than Lithium if you do not have an external battery pack.

My vote would be definitely SB 900. Plus, the firmware can be updated shld there be any issues.

Metz 58AF-1 also have firmware update via usb.
Nikon SB900 firmware update via latest camera from memory card.

Both firmware can be downloaded from manufacturer's website.

I think both Mets 58 AF-1 and Nikon SB900 has their pros and cons.. choose either one wont go wrong..
