Which Housing Should Go for G9?

How long can dslr batteries last? all 4 dives? I don't think the new g10 batt life will increase significantly. What's the ideal battery life? Ability to last for 4 dives/day? Now, I'm changing it every 2 dives..

4AAs on A6XX series can last me 2 days (each day 3 dives) with extensive use of internal flash.

It all depends on how many frames you fire with the flash on a P&S. One thing you'll notice on some of the powershot series of cameras is that when you fire off the camera's flash, it takes a couple of seconds for the flash to charge before you can take another shot. Not so ideal u/w even though you get better battery life compared to the G series canon cameras. Also when talking about battery life it's best to compare number of shots per charge instead of number of dives. Some divers shoot a lot on a dive and some shoot less.

For DSLRs you're usually talking about at least 400-500 shots per charge since you're not using the camera's flash. Unless you have those alu housings that allow you to use fibre optic sync cords with inon/sea&sea strobes.

I have a G9 set up on Ike w Ike strobe DS125..... I previously had the G7

I highly recommend it except I'm letting it go.. cos I'm changing to video.

Am gonna put it in classified. was used only from Jan - May 08. In excellent condition.
