Agree with the seniors here... about size and weight
I just came back from a two weeks trip from S Korea yday.. I bought quite a few things for this trip and gear up my 60D, even went to buy an amour cover to make it look less attractive.... As i was doing my last bit of packing i saw my whole set of gear waiting to be packed in and i was in dismay as i thought of my return journey and the carrying i need to do when i come back with all the face shop products etc im going to buy and the fact that i am bringing about 9kg of clothes and essential items... exclude my bulky laptop and camera plus charger which was additional 7kg or so...
Guess what, i ditch my 60D, my Tamron 18-270 and speedlite, i took along my sister Canon 1100D with 18-55mm lens plus a 50mm f1.8... we bought the 1100D after i bought my 60D due to its price and weight most imptly.. plus its a decent dslr for the price bought it with the purpose in mind of travelling light as this was a cultural, sightseeing and shopping trip more than a photo trip so the 1100D came in handy.. for the 9 days i didnt even use the 50mm f1.8 the 18-55mm was good enuff for me... and the weight of the 1100D was just nice, i might have died halfway with a 60D
my older sister who has a 600D ditch it and took along her S95...
weight and size is a factor when you travel, so do take into consideration... as such im now considering a m 4/3 or mirrorless camera now... probably the Sony Nex or New Canon EOS M, the Panasonic GF series or the Olympus Pen... Now doing research, maybe will reward myself next yr... if got money i sure look at the OMD, x100 etc... no budget hahaha
do consider the size and weight...
