Bought them at mustaffa. On and off they have some good offers there with those drill bits. Mine is without the offer when i purchase them. Made in Germany.Recently Makita also available.

Try Bosch Rotary Hammer drills. These use the drill bits with SDS sign on them. They are reliable and last a long time. hammer drill are not able to penetrate the wall.

The brands like Makita, Hilti and B&D or Dewalt (which is also under B&D) are well known brands. Makita and Hilti are very well established in construction arena.

Bosch is in between. just get the entry level rotary will do. Price around $200 +/- make sure you get the SDS drill bits from Bosch not the 3rd party ones as they are not reliable.

I use bosch, Dewalt, b&D and Makita before.

I thought impact hammer drills should be more than enough?

Bosch, Makita, Hilti.
Dont go to places like HomeFix to get them. Go to Serangoon Road (Thieve's Market) area to buy from the independant stores. Better prices, and they will guide you along on what you need too .

It should be more than sufficeint for the job. If it was a drill that was going to be used professionally I'd be looking at a rotary hammer but for a few holes around the house a regular hammer drill will do the job fine and won't require the special drill bits required by a rotary hammer / impact drill.

I always start drilling with a smaller bit as it can penetrate the wall better, then increase the size of the drill bit to get the size i want. Using B&D too (Can't rem the wattage). I also find the quality of the bit important.

Looking towards Bosch or Makita.

Any good places to get them?:)
