a 10-22mm would be used most of the time for scenary shots. bring the 18-55mm for general purpose. leave the 28-105mm.

I second that. 10-22 is much more useful for scenary and architectural shots than the 28-105. Pair it with a 70-200mm and you are ready!

Are you on free and easy? Where is your destination.

If you are and you got all the time in the world. provided that your gf/wife can tahan u bringing so many barang barang and changing gear all the time.

I brought a 40d 17-55 and 10-22 for my Italy and Switzerland trip and i thought it was enough. I guess i was missing a 580 EX II though. or bring along a 400d and 40d. with 10-22mm and 17-55mm mounted respectively to the bodies. That would be best.

Intend to bring these for a ten day trip and calculated total weight to be 6.00 kg, think it's too much ?

1) EF-S 10-22 f3.5-4.5
2) EF-S 17-55 f 2.8
3) EF 24-105 f4/L
4) EF 85 f1.8
5) EF 100-400 f4.4-5.6 or EF70-300f4.5-5.6 DO IS USM
6) 400D
7) 40D
8) Epson P2000
9) 430 EX
10) EF-S 60

Anyone tried carrying a 6 kg weight in a 1O days tour ? Did a search, closest was a thread in 2002 but no mention of weight. Maybe start training by carrying a pack of 5 kg bag of rice.

i bring only 1 coz its quite a hassle to carry so much equipment around.
used to be my 17-40, since i just sold that, i will be bringing the 10-22 for future trips.

I will be going to tour Turkey through tour agency. Did a search on the places through flickr and found that I will need a flash for underground city.Maybe I am too Kiasu. I love the facial expression of aged locals and hope to take some good pics for memory. 85 f1.8 will be good for both portraits and indoor shots. Not expecting my wife to carry any of these stuff, probably do a trial locally to see if I can manage the weight, else have to prioritise or get a compu trekker as someone suggested.Maybe forget about macro lens for flowers. Tour covers landscape, market place, museum and harbour ( BIF )
Regretted for not getting the right lenses for some of the famous chapel in Italy..the only place I yearn to go for a second visit. 10-22 and 17-55 is sufficient fo UK or Scotland, though I brought a 70-300. Can't afford to make mistake, once in a life time to Turkey. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks !:)
