The Elan 7NE or EOS 30V as it is called in Asia (with eye control) is a pretty well constructed camera for its price...about S$630 (all in price).Even with the battery pack, BP300 attached, it still feels light (boon or bane..?) for normal use.....
It is definitely worth a read for those who are keen to get their hands on one to note the E-TTL 2 and supposedly faster autofocusing abilities.
Put the body with the 70-200 f/4 lens today and the weight is still no issue for low-light photogrpahy.....I now have to get used to handling lighter equipment after the Nikon F5 and AFS lenses...... Compared with the Canon 10D, the feel is less substantial for bigger hands (even with the battery pack)
but definitely suitable for Asian sized hands like mine.....
The new matt finish looks professional although I would prefer if the camera back was finished in the same look.
Wonder if this is already selling in Singapore coz I have not heard from Cathay since I last checked two weeks ago.
Hope this helps
So $630 with grip or without grip?
