Wait for a while, the 30D will be here the next month normally slighly the same price as 20D...
If you have the budget, go for the 30D. Better body, better program, better speed.
The 30D will have a 2.5 in. screen as well.

You may want to consider a 2nd hand 20D. It is definitely a better choice. I think there is a recent thread which may be helpful

No need to think about it - take the 20D - the 350D's UI is crappy. Specs aside, the 20D is much nicer camera to use. Wait till the 30D hits the shops and the price of the 20D drops before buying.

rumour has it to be 2.4 RRP.. meaning streets will be 2.2k?

Yeah same here...but aiming 5D hehe..
