Agreed my dear friend, it abt the person behind the equipment, but equipment do play a part too. So every advise and comment is important to me. I read and take it as a free lesson.hahaha no hard feeling
I've intention of getting a good housing for either my D70 or D80 in near future. Likely will be D70 as this camera have been with me since it launch. D80 is very new my son still palying with it. I'll get it once he pass his PADI. :)

should think about getting the housing for your dslr soon and not the near future. Housings then to discontinue from the manufacturers pretty fast.

Thks U. Last nite I try to take some photos with Fuji f40fd and compare with my D70,D80, Casio EXz750 and Olympus C9000. The out come not so bad, better than Casio and Olympus. Will try underwater next week:)

Is there an Olympus C9000?

Is there an Olympus C9000?

Sori should be Olympus C900. Bought in Europe in Nov 1998 abt S$600+, that time only 1.3m pixel veri grand oradi. C900 oso known as D400 in some country, follow by C920, C960 and C990 which have the highest 2.1m pixel. btw it use smartmedia max 128mb compare to now we use 2gb. The camera is still in great working codition. :)

Thks agreed. After my trip will look for one.:)

Shocking? whats wrong with a fuji?

IMHO.. fuji has much better color then Canon
f40 Focusing is fast and rather accurate
the housing is better then canon's
it has SD/XD card slots
it has FD
it has better noise control

I would choose Fuji over canon anytime.

Anyway Congrats on your buy Sunnypub, remember, its not the equipment :) its the photographer. Remember to share your photos here! :D

first its the wrong theory bout the equipment not mattering... if its so why read mauals, why bring more cams to market- equipment dose matter whether u r the best photographer in the world or NOT!!! Second, Fuji better than Canon? sorry, but i'm totally against that! not because of guessing of pick and choose but simply experienced. actually it depends on what u use your cam for, but when i buy cameras Fuji is totall yout of the selction list. maybe we just don't think alike, but one man's meat if another man's poison so won't argue over that! u like Fuji but i'm all for canon an that's because of experienced. Well, in the cam wrold people don't always agree- but that's okay.

Why isn't Olympus just aint that good?

sir i bought Olympus and regretted it like crazy- i know friends that buy Olypus and regrett it too. reasons are obvious ones u get stuck with a cam u totally hate. like i said photographers don't think alike so that's just my preference while your may be totally different.;)

The rest I rather not go on. never ending one.. happy canoning :D

And do try to paragraph our sentences I have to read 5x (sorry im slow) to understand what you were trying to say. Hmm or maybe I haven got it yet

My first Camera is Olympus.. And I love it.. and it's still going around in the market, One of the most popular UW cameras available. C5050.. infact.. I regretted selling it.

Since you already bought it.. why not learn its flaws and strong point.. and make use of it.. or sell it off and get a canon? :D

My 1st true Digital Camera is an Olympus too..... C3000Z, costing me the same as my EOS 400D now :D. It was a good camera at those time. Olympus does make good cameras..... just the choice of using xD memory card is beyond me.

Is there really such a thing as one brand being better than another..... ?? I personally don't think so. Each brand seems to have one or two function that is better then the other. Just wondering if they (the companies) could combine all those 'good' function into one camera....

1) IS - or other method
2) 28mm wide angle
3) Good photo taking
4) Low Noise
5) Low batteries requirment
6) Good Video mode (I want 16:9 resolution in AVI format.... make DvD movies)
7) Best of all.... must be CHEAP !! ;)

Why no such camera..... hahaha :D

I beg to differ. I know of one professional photographer that uses a 35mm point and shoots film for his work with models. His photos are published in magazines as well and his works are well sort after. So even simple cameras can do the job I don't see why equipment might be so critical. Perhaps understand the limitations of the camera and finding ways to over come it's short comings might work better.

Okay perhaps I am asking the wrong question. Which Olympus camera did you purchased?

Wow..that is way before my time. I started with a C-2040. Maybe the model was named differently here in Asia. Damn I hated those SmartMedia cards! 128MB on TIFF only gives you 12 shots per dive. Imagine it was worst off than film while diving in Sipadan then. Had to made every shot count.

Ooo.. now then you tell me.. hahaha. I just sold off my C-5050s with Ikelite housings today! So far not regretting it. The cameras and housings have seved me well over the last 3 years. Brought back some beautiful pictures and like they say.. the rest is history.

Time to move on...

If combining all the good functions together then there will not be any marketing advantage for each brand. Usually as far as I can see for now, companies tries to copy each other's technology to have that all perfect camera. Of course in the end it is the consumers decision and also the $$ factor.

Digital cameras now are to the point companies make them to last like 2-3 years before all the problems start arising. Lower cost of production means cheaper parts for some. Not like the film camera days. Made to last or the first few generations of 1-2MP digital cameras. Tough and sturdy tools.
