Just tried Canon G1X yesterday, but i cant take macro shots, cant focus within 0.4m

DPReview states the closest focusing distance to be 0.2m.
Possibly it's using the widest focal length, hence the (W) description.
I saw a Samsung EX1 going for about 450 at Best about a month ago. Not sure if it's still available.

Why not? No significant change in IQ. New features not worth the added cost.
