Which bag should I get for EOS xxD?

I think it is the same as if we carry a backpack (but the strain is only on one side; the right shoulder). When feeling straneous, I normally move the bag to the front. I have no problem carrying 50d + 24-105 + 10-22 + 430ex for few hours. I only really feel the weight when carrying 70-200 f2.8.

i am not sure about 17-55's weight, but it seems to be light as well.

Ah, one out-of-topic advice, need to keep the bag dry because normally we sweat a lot in this high humidity environment. When not using, I normally fully open the bag put in a
cupboard with dehumidifier when not using it, or put it under the sun for 1-2 hours but need to flip it over to make sure all sides are dried.

But just to understand, will prolong carrying of the SlingShot 200AW be straneous/tiring on the shoulders? Assuming I'm carrying 40D with 24-105L & 17-55, and a 580 EXII. Plus maybe a 85mm prime.

I just recalled that during canon photo marathon 2008 day, I carried 24-105 + 50 f1.4 + 70-200 f4L the whole day (literally, from 8.30am to 10pm), and i didn't feel strained.

Tamrac velocity8x
it fits 40D attached with 17-55 or 70-200 in the middle compartment and another 2 lenses in side compartments.
I use to carry the 40D with 17-55 lens attached, 70-200 & 430EX flash in side compartments. not bulky, not too tight.. right fit!
Can sling on the side or on my back(like a backpack). Easy to unload the cam too:)

has anyone else tried the tamrac velocity bags? i hear the 7x will fit the 40D + 17-85 but i'm wondering whether to get the 8x or 9x instead for 'future expansion'.

I must say, the velcro sound makes it very conspicuous when you're taking out your camera, and there's no easy access zip, but i've gone on many overseas trips without having to worry so much when I sling my bag behind cos it's obvious when someone tries to open it haha

actually, the 7mdh bottom velcros has a flap which you can take out to cover the velcro, for those inconspicuous moments. there's this small slit beneath the bottom velcro, will need to dig in and pull out the flap. :)

I can only speak for the newer ones though (the one with 2 buckle clips), not too sure about the older ones (only 1 clip).

i oso used a slingshot 200aw...but the dynamics of using it is tough. plus, quite hard to hold the camera securely inside the bag.

Somehow I feel it is true. From the video clip of the lowepro website, it actually shows it can easily fit. But I think because the bag actually put in a lot of lens / other things into each compartment, and also the camera is with grip...

some may actually find this and more convenient. i prefer a backpack; half for camera, and half for food and drinks...u know lar, walking whole day very the tired de...hahah.

its all up to ur shoulders.. if ur shoulder can take it.. why not? if not, u either alternate or buy a backpack to carry ur stuff in..:D at least it will distribute the weight evenly to both ur shoulders..:)

hi, i was thinking should i get a backpack or a sling bag last time. I do not want to waste my money on buying so many different bags and at the point that i am using none of them. So, if let say you do have a normal Crumpler Sling bag. Just buy Lowepro Rover (or any bag that has removable semi circular padded).

1st : Take out the the pad and put it inside your crumpler sling bag. You have now a slingbag with enough protection for your camera and enough space to put all your lenses, flash etc.
2nd : If you are in dead serius situation such as hiking, serious photo hunting. Put the pad back into Lowepro and you have weatherproof backpack.

So, yes save money as you only need to buy 1 bag (don't count your crumpler in lah...). This one applicable with other sling bag as long as the size permit. Since you are using crumpler bag which millions of people are using it, nobody will notice that you are carrying camera inside. Then...yes, those slingbag won't be equipped with all those weatherproof, but since it is leisure walk. I believe you will take a shade once rain comes.

Just my 2 cent =) Sorry if it's a mistake.

National Geographic Walkabout rucksack...
cos its a camera bag that don't look like a camera bag

With a price tag that can get you one other average bag and have a lot of spare change. :bsmilie:

haha...

i'm not regretting buying it one bit...

the amount of junk i can fill it with on top of my camera stuff in 1 bag...i think its cool..and people don't actually know that i am carrying a camera in it

you can try orient photo if they have any left cos i think i bought the last one..maybe they will restock??

or you could try Vivo maybe...

to me my choices were simple...lowepro primus or the walkabout...

I think you can still find the explorer series...it goes for 200 dollars...but it looked too outdoorsy to me..

I concur. Sad to say, I already have a shoulder bag that is about that size, and I still find it too small. I'm looking at something bigger, say the Domke F-804 super satchel.

I do believe it is notebooks with screen size up to 15.4". Better to bring down and test.

Get my 6-million dollar home. ;)

I would go with Crumpler 7 Milliion. Looks trendy and the non camera bag look is a plus. Furthermore you can carry most of your gear with you with a bag like that.
