20-35mm f2.8L : Still my favorite wide angle
Sigma 50mm f2.8 Macro: Still the sharpest. Sharper than the canon equivalent for its working distance.
400mm f2.8L: Sharpness at f2.8 is the best i've seen in the tele lenses i've used.

canon 300 2.8:thumbsup:
canon 50 1.4
canon 100 2.8 macro

sharpest lens is my Sigma 24-70 EX f2.8 . At F4, it is even sharper than my 70-200L f4 and 17-40 L ! see to believe !

Sharpest Lens I used are....

My Right eye
My Left eye
Canon 50mm f1.8
Tamron 90mm DI f2.8 Macro

I'm a poor man and cant even afford to touch an L lens.

how come I don't see the 200mmf1.8L being talked about much here?

mainly because the thread is lenses "ever used"

i don't think the 200/1.8L is something that is commonly owned and used. Same story for the 85/1.2L

Primes -
1. Tamron 90mm f2.8 Di Macro
2. Canon 85mm f1.8
3. Canon 100mm f2.8 USM macro

Zooms
1. Canon 70-200mm f4L
2. Canon 70-200mm f2.8L
3. Sigma 18-50 f2.8 EX (Sharper than the Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 Di and Canon 17-40mm f4 L under my somewhat limited comparison)

Two sharpest I use are:

135mm f/2L
50mm f/1.4

Very happy with these two.

50mm f/1.8 where got L ??

You r very lucky, my left & right eye can only do close focusing since secondary school days, beyond 1 or 2 feet nothing is sharp unless I wear specs

Your question was "which are the three sharpest and best lenses I have used on my Canon EOS"

Since you did not specify brands, nor the cost of the lens...............

Here goes

1 Leica 100mm f2.8 apo-macro-elmarit
2 Leica 50 mm 1.4 summilux
2 Leica 180 mm f2.8 apo-elmarit

eh... student, any one of these lens is enuf to buy any EOS a few times over...

What I consider to be best isn't necessarily the sharpest. Focal length, AF speed, image reproduction etc... are all factors I'd consider when coming up with said list of best lenses (that I've used personally, I'm sure there are others but I've not had the opportunity to use them... such as Student's Leicas). So, mine are...

EF 17-40/4L - Reasonably affordable, good wide angle zoom. Would have been beaten by the 20-35/2.8L if not for its faster AF.

EF 35/1.4L - Superb all round standard lens on a DSLR. Great available light capability.

EF 400/4 DO - A very nice balance between a supertele (with IS) and weight.

for me this three is the finest one in terms of sharpness and color contrast

- EF200mm f/1.8
- EF 85mm f/1.2
- EF 35mm f/1.4

So many Primes... Not much of a prime user.

1.70-200 F2.8 L IS USM
2. 135 F2
3.24-70 L USM
