Sori :) .. I don't use 1gb CF ..... trying to be on the safe side ..... but I do heard lexar is good ...... personally, I only use 256mb CF card (when shot in raw, simulate a roll of flim).

I have some Kingston, F1, Toshiba, Sandisk, Transcend ..... and they are all working just fine :).

some says the new batches og hagiwara not bad...
Their quality getting better & better...

Any of those you've listed are fine. Just look at whichever fits your budget best. But if you've got the $$$ and want the luxury appeal, then go for Lexar.

Go for Sandisk Ultra II instead of the Lexar. Faster on a 10D body.

thanks for your replies. any difference in performance between the 3? the hagiwara is the most economical. what am i paying the difference for?

Speed !!
The Sandisk Ultra II will be able to give better write performance.
I'm using 2 of them right now.

I'd vote for Lexar. But the Sandisk Ultra II is faster. But not by a lot. So your call to see if the speed difference is that noticeable to you. :)

Actually Trancend 45X is not bad as well .. use both (Ultra II and Trancend 45X) and does not really feel the different ... unless you really do rapid shot ..

Just FYI according to Sandisk the speed for Ultra II is 60X

how much will a 1gb CF card cost nowadays???? thinking of getting 1 too.... if under$400 buy buy buy

Would look at me budget first, if there is no limit, then would head for Lexar. If not am ok with the others.

there's quite a difference in the cost of each brands i stated.
1) hagiwara in the 300++ range
2) transcend in the 500+ range
3) lexa in the 400++ range

heard some reliability problem with Sandisk, anyone heard of this?

IMO, if budget no a big problem,

for speed -> Sandisk Ultra II
for reliability -> Lexar Pro 40X

Quotes from last week from several funan stores.. here are some of the lower ones...

Sandisk Ultra II - $520 (1gb) & $260 (512mb)
Lexar 40x 1gb - $480 (Eastgear MO $470)

Personally I'd go with a Transcend 45x or the Ultra/Ultra II. The speed difference between these cards aren't going to be that noticeable in most situations. I use the Ultra II myself and am very happy with the 2 cards I own. Am thinking of getting another one or the 3 I mentioned.

Can someone confirm if the fastest Hagis available are around 20x or 25x? Can't seem to find their specs anywhere? Might not be fast enough for most DSLRs.

AP quoted that the lexar 40X is twice as fast as the hagiwara. is this true?

Terence, can you tell me which shops to go to in Funan? anyway does the speed of the card also depend on the camera? i am using a canon a80, so is it worth it to get a high speed CF card?
