Where's my Char Siew???

Eat the salted fish one, shiok!! At least it's real salted fish. But eat hua dan horfun sometimes the shop also cheat me, so little egg, like no diff

I knew someone will bring the salt fish version up! :bsmilie: But no leh... Salted fish version tastes nice, but I don't think I'd have it all the time... ONLY if I wanted a stronger taste from the usual fried rice fare...

I wonder what Dick Lee thinks... now the local Zhi Chars no longer supports his Fried Rice Paradise... :bsmilie:

Peeps, if you do happened to discover local Zhi Chars still using real "char siews" please report here leh... They will be our last bastion to the original taste liao... Also, kopitiam/hawker Zhi Char hor... air-conditioned high class restaurants dun count!

Mean while, I'll try to source around near my neighbourhood to see if there's any real "hope" left... :bsmilie:

what about the one at the Singapore Flyer? i'm sure that they've got some "Authentic" stores :bsmilie:

either than or geylang/changi village/bedok is your best bet for old-style fried food.

Dun ask, just go and try and report back here... (if you happened to go there of course)... :bsmilie:

Geylang...:sweat: My wife will think I'm up to something fishy and using the pretext of eating fried rice as a sad excuse, bro... :bsmilie:

Drive a Merz or BMW to JB's "zhi char" store, you can easily become their "carrot head". ;)
So take note when eating in JB.

Pig farms are being closed and no new permits are issued there.

Most of the food stalls don't sell pork there.

I think you have to travel further to Hong Kong for quality Char Siew.

I've heard there is a Singapore company experimenting in maintaining a pig farm on a floating platform on sea to preserve Singapore's preeminence of world supply in Shar Siew. :bsmilie:

Not married doesn't mean you don't require such service.

In fact you need an outlet more. :bsmilie:

Don't know the places can ask the tourists or migrant workers. :bsmilie:

i think that in the future, we'll need to bring our own char-siew down to these stalls and ask them to add it in :bsmilie:
