Hi,

Does any one know which shop provide reliable & effective sensor cleaning service? I need to send my Canon 5D Mark II for cleaning, as at f/11 I can see obvious dark spots on my photos -- many of them!!! Blower don't really help me much as it basically blowing the smudges from one spot to another. I tried Canon customer service a couple of times before, but the results were not very satisfactory; first time I ended up getting a replacement unit, second time it was a free service so cannot complaint...

Please advise. Thanks in advance.

at the end of the day, most of us would still advice u to go to ur brand's customer service.y?
what r u doing to do if ur sensor is scratched while cleaning?

or u can learn to clean urself.

btw, free service or not,if they never do a clean job, tell them to do it again.

I bought this sensor cleaning set from Cathay Photo in Peninsula. Comes with 4 swabs and an alcohol vial. I used it on my D3S and D300. Very effective for me. But quite pricey.
The swabs come in crop frame and full frame sizes.

Hey can PM me the brand and price? I could use a set for my D3 and D7000. Thanks.

I tried DIY with sensor swab before, I just couldn't do it right and wasted $$$, like you said, pricey... Thus I hope I can pay someone who are good at it, and I don't mind paying the premium. Anyway, like ssy77 said, I probably should just go back to Canon again.
