Where to get the best E-M5 deal?

I dont mind since its free. U can always give/sell it away. In fact, when i almost bought a OMD from Philippines, i told my friend to keep the bag.

My understanding is they give a bag but they compensate it by giving 8gb transcend card. Local set gives 16 gb sandisk c4. I prefer the sandisk than the bag/ slow card

Ah..google

List of official retailers in Johor. Not recommendations, but it's a start I guess ;)

Thanks, shadowoflight! I read from this thread: http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/consumers-corner/991880-recommended-camera-shop-jb-15.html that Angsana Plaza in JB has several good-priced photo shops (Mee Too, FotoBerlian, Johan), but that the location at Angsana Plaza is not really the safest place to be....... >.<

Where in KL? I'm going this weekend...

lowyat has some shops quoting in this price range.
do follow govt procedure, ask for 3 quotes.
the 1st coupla stores approached mite as well be bally photo in disguise.

also, not sure if its a gd idea to change $$ in sg wang.
u make urself a target as soon as they see u go into a rm.
and its hard to see who mite be eyeing u in that crowd.
maybe waving a big giotto pod mite deter them a bit..

Honestly, exchanging the cash in Sg or msia, not much difference. If you feel safety is an issue, just do it locally.

Also, you can easily tell apart the Msians and the sgreans apart by behaviour and dressing, don't need to eyeball exchanges

Got the EM5 for myself last week. Silver version with kit lens from TK Foto. Damage of $1689 if i remember. Cash price.

I am actually a Nikon DSLR (D7000) user and have been on the lookout for a more smaller, compact body to use when I could not/did not want to use a DSLR. Have tried compacts before but IQ was never quite up to DSLR standards. Think I may have found my permanent 2nd camera body in the EM5.

Reviews of the camera were good. And my own use of it showed it to be of high quality. For now will probably stick with the kit lens.

$1689 is already a good price... lowest quoted to me is $1698 from SLRRevo...
for silver kit... do they have silver kit lens as well?

Nope, the kit lens is black. They said they don't have the silver kit lens.

From what I understand, Olympus Imaging Singapore only has black kit lens in stock, though you can choose between black or silver body. Not sure if they will be bringing in silver kit lens to Sg..

Anyone knows abt KL/JB side?

That's what they claim.... the street value of these gifts are generally lower

I am looking for OMD as well
But as i saw the above replied.. that mean really dun have kits lens set with both body n lens are silver?
This is so much dissapointed :(

I saw it in todays newspaper. $481 worth of gift? don't think so ba. Lowepro bag, tripod, screen protector, SD card, free training, warranty etc. still not worth $481 ba. but can consider those gift for a neebie to kick start. but i wonder how much is the camera cost? perhaps is still the RRP.

Perhaps you can get the silver body first then buy the silver lens separately

SD card, training to teach you the basic operation and 3 more extra months warranty is already in place all along...so they r simply putting up together to add to the numbers of "freebies"...
they are still selling at $1888...
