Guys Olympus just called up and said they can only trade in DSLR with DSLR, compacts cannot be used for trade in....damn it. Ridiculous..change of policies..

Do you need to provide the lens also?

pricing is about right if you check the known camera shop like MSColor, Cathay etc

Is m43 considered DSLR when trading in for OMD? Or do they accept m43 trade in??

Went ahead with the buy. Bought at $1718 at Holland V. Silver body. Only free SD card.

If you're willing to go to KL, EM-5 with 12-50 can be had for RM3.8k (S$1520), while body only for RM3.1k (S$1240).
The only troublesome thing is to leave the box in MY to your friends, relatives to avoid paying the 7% GST
Olympus products in Malaysia come with worldwide warranty

You can google for their address if you've never been to this place before.
Can try DY Divine and another shop next to KFC

I got my d800 at fotokem at the shopping center opposite ampang park subway station, quite decent price. I recall they stock oly stuff.

Another place is boeing at sungei wang shopping center.

Dont buy at berjaya...i browsed a few shops...choked at the quoted prices...above RRP

Not sure about the price there, but no harm trying your luck at some shops at Lowyat.
IIRC, DY Divine also has a branch at Berjaya Times Sq, you can check with them too.
As always, pay by cash if you want cheaper price.

do be more alert if u're carrying that amt of cash ard the place..
mite even be a gd idea to use card, even with poorer exchange rates and a 2% surcharge..

U are absolutely right. I brought 4k+ cash to the shop..and the shop keeper warned me to be really really careful.. when i went to the money changer, i was asked to wait in a small room inside rather than wait at the counter...
