Saw it on display at Best VivoCity last wk at RRP.
I did tel a few shops previously just to check availability when I read some reports of shortages of some lens/cameras and normally a majority of the shops have what I asked. Maybe, I don't need the item so I don't feel the disappointment when I hear the "no stock" reply.
Actually, what are the causes of shortages? Really don't understand. Maybe because of :
1) Factory capacity too small
2) factory is small because it has no fund to expand, no fund because of poor sales and banks don't lend because of low prospect/ high risk
3) nothing/minimal leaves the factory because of quality problem
4) strategy of not to produce too many as too many will cheapen the product on the theory that scarcity produces a psychological effect that it is in high demand because it is good
5) actually huge stock exist but the manufacturer hold on to the deliveries to create a false impression that it is unable to cope up with the huge demand (the same way like they control the retailers on the pricing)
Any other theories on why there are shortages of things like lens and cameras?
