tried pcmcia - CF -xd cannot... direct from built in xd reader on laptop cannot... strange...

Did you tried with other XD card in your xd reader on your laptop? If you did maybe your xd slot in your laptop got problems.

tried pcmcia - CF -xd cannot... Do you mean you put the XD card into the CF adpater and then put into your PCMCIA Slot???

yup... i put the XD into the XD-CF convertor then into the CF-PCMCIA adaptor... so i guess might be my laptop default got problem...

but strange is when i use an external reader no problem..

When you use external reader is to USB port rite, so we can said that is direct.
What is the brand of your CF-PCMCIA, doesn't it support XD? I bought one PCMCIA 6 in 1 from IT image and it support XD.
