Where to buy LX3

hi. i'm thinking of getting an lx3 over the weekends. may i know what is the usual freebies (so i dont get ripped off)? is it an 8gb sd card, card reader, screen protector, case, oem battery and the mini tripod? thanks!

case are no longer included in MSC and AP's promo. :angry:

I just got mine for $679 from MSC (8gb, screen protector, oem battery & mini tripod). I bought the lumix case for $10 but it's a very tight fit with my lx3.

Anyone can recommend any case to go with it? Appreciate your advice....... Thanks!

I got the Lumix case as part of the bundle from AP SLS. But like u said, it's very tight fitting.
I might go for Kata DF-408 as an alternative.

has anyone tried using D-Lux 4 case to fit LX3? IMHO, a truly classic leather case to fit a legendary cam!

I spent a few weeks in Japan and could not find this camera anywhere except from stores raising the price due to the demand and low stock (¥60,000 = $620) and the airport which had it listed at about the same price (¥58,000). Yodobashi Camera had the LX3 for ¥46,000 ($475) plus 20% points back to spend at the store, so about $380, assuming you had a card, but every Yodobashi I checked in the Tokyo region were sold out. None of their units seem to include any accessories except the airport, which threw in a 4gb SD card.

Same story in Taiwan. I checked around two of the largest cities in Taiwan, and most of them sold the camera for 16900NT ($515) and included a 2-8GB card but were sold out (a few offered 8GB + case for $640). Official Panasonic dealers were also all sold out, but listed the camera at 16,900NT and included a case and if the time was right, threw in a 8GB card as a special offer. I went through dozens of stores and finally found one with a decent price and one last camera in stock. Paid 16,500NT ($500, tax included) for the camera, case, and screen protector, but no memory card.

Anyone has any ideal, which shop/location sell lx3 battery charger??

If you can't buy a charger from the shop you bought LX3 camera, you should tell everyone not to buyt from that shop.

Hi All, first post.
Just picked up my black LX3 at MS Color for $679 with usual freebies. I had done an e-quote last night and reserved a piece for today as they just got in 50 pieces. Sales person told me nearly all were already reserved and would be gone by the weekend!

They also just got the panasonic black leather formed case back in stock. Selling at $140. They only have about 20 pieces.

I checked about the brown leica D-lux4 case which has been posted a couple times in this thread. I was told that was only sold together with the Leica and not meant for separate sale. I said that AP was selling and was told it is most likely aftermarket and not genuine. Think just some salesmanship going on there.

Anyone know where I can find a nice brown retro looking case similar to the Leica? Having this camera with no case is scary, but I am very excited to have actually gotten one!! Florence said in her confirmation email that they have sold 1500 pieces since coming out!

wow, seems like a good cam

however i think the leica digilux-4 is better

but not so economically friendly as the LX3

Just got mine at Clementi @ $670. Unlike MSC or AP, they don't have any screen-protector, OEM-battery or case. Just usual freebies from Panasonic (mini-tripod, cleaner, card-reader & 8GB SDHC).
But, considering they give me 12-months installment plan FOC, I consider it a good deal. Now, times to hunt for leather casing and screen-protector

I think that is the normal price. Try Orient Photo at SLS, I saw somewhere in this forum that it's selling for $160. Call them to see if they have stock
