Go to CSM on the left dial, scroll to Item 3, and select OFF.

Welcome to the S3 Pro Users.

Hi people.

Can anyone enlighten me whether local shops in Sg still sells brand new S3 Pro?

And their price if possible?

Thanks.

Btw, any S3 pro outings from this forum? I am keen to learn more about this cam from the old birds. ;)

actually after 11 days of intensive usage of my s3pro in Japan, I realise it is not so simple. Although its raw files has huge DR, it is hard to equalize the dark and light areas in Photoshop to make a pleasing picture....

And somehow, some of the edited jpegs I sent to print at my local kodak kiosk came back super underexposed. Somehow, the machine auto settings tried to expose for highlights like the lamp lights, etc. Never happened b4 on my old DSLRs.

Lest this paints an incorrect idea of the S3, I'd say what I tell folks during my AG Outings -
" It is the user, not the camera. "

ya what I was trying to say is that s3pro is harder to use than my other DSLRs.

Everyone knows it is the user, but the camera basically decides the possibilities available to you. Different camera/lens allows for different kind of shots.

Basically, when one go travelling, there is no time to wait for the proper lighting. Often I am forced to shoot when the contrast was way too high. Things I could not capture with the other DSLRs like oly E1 became possible with s3pro. BUT although I had all the details captured, "saving" that SHOT requires more than that. Basically it entails a lot of PS to equalise the light and dark areas.... which is quite interesting actually.

Everyone has different needs lor. For me, I realised I never used the continuous mode (3fps) ability in my old DSLR and I found some of my travel pictures with burnt out skies. As I join tour groups and sometimes it is not possible to go around and get a better angle. I hope the s3pro can solve my problem with its massive raw file.

If you use the RAW file from s3pro, it is REALLY hard to get blown highlights if you develop using ACR. But you have to do PP to balance the contrast.

If you just want to print out of the cam without any PP any DLSR will do... Colors is a matter of taste, My wife really liked the olympus E1 colors.

the new canon 400D's features looks real good. Compared to the s3pro, it is lighter, better AF module (I think as it shares the same AF module as 30D), less noise, 10MP, 3fps, bigger LCD, and DUST BUSTER. Fujifilm charges $89 to clean sensor....

Wait till you try holding the 400D with a big lens...

u can try ordering from BnH or from other online stores from The UK.

can try approaching FujiFilm Singapore for help.
