it's not colour cast, it's the reflects from the car.
when taking photos whereby your subject is metallic or very polished or reflective, you are usually encouraged to use a CPL to prevent unnecessary reflections off these surfaces.
Erm, reduce glare from windscreen I can still understand, but why would you not want reflection for car photos? I mean even most car catalogue photos don't use cpl...the reflection is there to say the car is shiny, glossy and well groomed, isn't it?
