CP, TCW n K-13 @ Peninsula Area.

Fotographix at Lucky Chinatown.

Should have a few more shops selling paddings also. But some padddings are brand and model specific.

so its best advised to bring the bag & test fit the paddings? ya?

If can, all the better. :)

You'll know at the instant whether the paddings will fit into the bag and your liking.

Sometimes it might be more worth it to pick up an el cheapo $20 camera bag and reuse the padded inserts from there rather than go buy some brand specific inserts. Imagine your Billingham with Safrotto inserts...

tat's what i going to do. Buy a cheap bag then buy padding and make my own camera bag. :)

Except that at times, the cheap bag is not able to contain the laptop and its accessories along with the cam and lens and accessories... I am still searching for such a bag.... And I am not talking about tons of lens btw... Just the kit lens and a 50mm prime, along with the Cir-Polariser filter and the blower, lens pen, extra batt, flash and its batts, etc....

You may wish to spend a little more and get a decent messenger bag to go with the inserts. I use a patagonia "critical half mass" bag bought at camper's corner at Capital, plus inserts salvaged from a Safrotto. The resulting bag looks okay, is lighter than crumpler but is as durable. It's fashionable but you can't tell it's a camera bag.

I had the intention to convert my Adidas messenger bag into a camera bag as well.. And I can stop searching for a camera bag like the Stealth Reporter 600 AW, to fit my ibook and lenses plus accessories.

It'll be like a 3 in 1. Padded for camera and ibook. Take out the padding and it's a normal bag.

Now where are those paddings...... :D

CP selling Domke paddings @ $45. Wonder where else sells paddings!!!???? Are paddings generally so expensive? If so guess it's more worthwhile to get a bag.

Domke = Louis Vuitton of the photography world

A fabric satchel which looks like those green sling bags of the 1980s already cost $180! And that comes with 2 little pieces of padding, making the final cost over $200 with the additional padding. And it's big enough to fit maybe 1 body, a lens and small flash.

go with the Safrottos, good value for money. The Lowepros are pretty affordable too.

i just got a free nikon domke look alike
just tat i find the padding a bit not so good.

Fotographix got such paddings or not?

Domke = Louis Vuitton?.. den how about Billingham?...

Looking for cheap bags to go with your padding?

Wat about looking for alternative paddings? Any recommendation? Can DIY also...

i wanna DIY but where got sell such paddings, i dun mind sewing them to specifications..maybe can even MO custom made paddings wahahahahhaha

Isnt the cost of custom padding enough to justify the cost of spending $50 on a decent Lowepro?

I find it amazing that some of you folks are quibbling over the savings of a couple of dollars on paddings after spending hundreds or even thousands on your camera gear.

I have some experience sewing additional velcros, strengthening paddings and switching torn Domke together.

i will customise some paddings with velcros. but i will firstly need to see what are your needs. PM me if you are interested. (only for those who are not too fussy about workmanships)
