I know I've voted for Lords (I-Photo now), but that was when I got DSLR body and other accessories. Don't get me wrong, they are still okay IMHO. Recently, my fav haunt has been TK-Foto, probably it's due to their great range of one-stop-for-all goods. I've bought from SLR before and I think their service is okay too. Orient Photos is okay too. Trust me, not everyone knows everything - even the best salesmen can't know everything unless you're talking to the "active" boss himself or herself (but don't take for guaranted that he/she would know everything either). Each store has its fair share of good and bad salemen/women. But don't forget this "good and bad" can be subjective from person to person. Who is a good saleman to you maybe the opposite for another - it is simply "chemistry" between two parties. If you don't "click" with the sale person, that is just it, move on and see if you can get lucky with the others.

As far as I'm concerned, go into each store with 50 to 70% confidence - to safe guard your feelings towards the store. Not 100%, as you'll only get disappointed if you do so.

My preference would be john 3:16 for their outstanding customer service, though their prices may be abit on the high side.

Great customer service, providing you're willing to wait in line behind 10 other people. They are always so busy

I always call around several places and buy from the cheapest, as the prices vary greatly, and support is provided by manufacturer (although I have not needed any yet, touch wood!).

by far john 3:16 is the most friendly service i've ever received from all of the other shops mentioned, they let me play with their sigma 70-200mm f2.8 & canon 70-200 f2.8L without even intimidating me to buy, really top notch service(no wonder everytime when i pass the place always packed) :thumbsup: though i find the price is a bit on the high side, well anyway i'm a second hand buyer from BnS section, no money to buy at shops for new one lol

Bought my 7D at TK Photo, found it to be the cheapest there at that time.
Bought 2 other lenses at SLR Revolution, their prices seem to be $10-$50 cheaper than other shop.
Bought other accessories, hoods, remotes from ebay.

From the poll most people like buying from Cathay Photo, I find the prices a little higher most of the time, but I bought a battery there bfore and bargined $1 off. lol

even though i only bought a body, he let me and my friend tried 3-4 lens without black face or pressure. top quality customer service. their price is generally on the low side.

I find the folks at John 3:16 too friendly which create long queues for other customers. It took my friend 45mins just to get a simple screen protector for his 7D. The staff was just talking and taking their time with their regulars. Services is great, no doubt but if you need a fast purchase, you would be better off somewhere else.

Happened to me too. But waiting time is shorter.

It's the shop to go to when there aren't a lot of customers.

My vote is bns section. I do help ease off tension for those guys who is undecided and troubled.

Anyway, j3:16 is always packed because parking space for testing there is free . So many people there trying trying but no buying. Seriously.

Its depends on your luck, some of the staff are not as friendly as the others. Guess you are lucky

I used to go to CP for most of my stuff (not much anyway, just some accessories) but now I check out all the shops and buy from whoever has the cheapest price. No particular preference service doesn't really matter to me since I've done my research and I just want to get the equipment while saving as much as I can and then go.
