Hello all,

Can i ask from those who have purchase from dd electronics and pick up the items from their office, are you able test out your items bought?

And why dd electronics stuff are relatively cheaper because they do no offer international warranty?

Thanks to advise.

MS color.

didn't have good experiences with other overrated shops listed by others.

I am speaking from a student's perspective. If people could see things from a student's perspective, there wouldn't be so many shops classified as shops with good service.

That being said, there are a few very helpful guys @ TK foto, specifically this old uncle in charge of promoting their own sirui tripods. He is really nice. For the other guys, I got no comments.

I am surprise so many people buy from Cathay when their stuff is more ex than others...

Any reason why? Things that we should take note of ?

i think its the service of Cathay that makes ppl buy from them....

i was at MS branch and the staff was great! but i didnt buy anything... i was just looking ard.

and they can accept credit card instalments without additional charges or whatever. so that's another thing that attracts ppl

I have bought from John before, kind service but always take forever to wait for your turn understandably it's always very crowded.
I gave DD a try cos tempted by it's cheaper price. Had to wait for stock but I was informed once it arrived; bought a lens and so far no problem and quite smooth transaction

personal preference was Cathay Photo...
had numerous good experience with the staffs... worthy for every penny...
introduced a few friends to CP and they also came back with good compliments...
though i have friends suggested that MS Color was better off...
my personal preference still to stick with what you are comfortable with

I think experiences with shops are very different and subjective depending on which sales person you will meet. I bought my gear at TK Photo, Cathay and MS before, and they were good. But one day I decided to call Cathay, the marina outlet about the Blackrapid strap and get transferred to 4 different sales person, not one knowing more about the strap than the other, and got told off RUDELY that the strap not in stock until I went to check and they had plenty of it :thumbsd:

I've pretty much given up on john 3:16. I don't see the point in waiting ages just to be served. Furthermore, I feel that Sam's 'kind service' is rather superficial and profit-oriented. Sigh.

Is SLR-R the shop on the 4th floor in funan or the one on 5th floor opp john 3:16? The 5th floor one no SLR-R sign leh i think..

Actually they are same boss with different shop name ;p

personally, for my very first and only dslr, i bought via clubsnap bns. added a lens a few weeks back also from bns.

the rest of the items i buy new like filters and accessories.. its artworkfoto. (the owner there is very friendly and will help you even if you just buy a cheap filter)

MS color is a great shop with competitive prices but sometimes you can get better prices out there.

I normally go to tk foto, look for an old guy named david there. :)

Mostly get my stuff while traveling, hong kong, tokyo, shanghai. Spore is overpriced and service sux.

Used to get from MS color, but in the last few years, realized i'm getting most of my stuffs from TK/SLRR/DD...
