When you getting 5D mk3?

Same dilemma here. I don't fancy the increased weight of the 5d3 though. May end up with a Sony Mirrorless FF. Low weight and low cost are important criteria for me.

But the Sony mirrorless cameras are APSC sensors. Apples and oranges.

Dont even need to comapare.. The removal of the mirror already meant less weight to begin with.. Weight diff due to no mirror and the body design because there is no need for the mirror chamber.. And some mirrorless dont even have built in viewfinder. Thats even less weight!

Yup.. These days I wish I could shoot at smaller apertures with action stopping shutter speeds. But I need clean high ISO to do that. And I think the 5D3 produces impressive high ISO results.

aside from high iso improvements, does the 5dmk3 come with better dynamic range? not HDR in camera processing stuff, but is the new sensor better? IIRC there was no improvement in DR in the 5Dmk2.

Yes esp. to those who really do large print (or to those who love to view the photo at few inch away lol) . Not really to those who only post in web/fb. (as in ..do they really need very very clean ISO).

am trying to say, most ppl can just go ahead and shoot with higher ISO and not to worry too much if they are not even doing printing. of course, cleaner ISO are always welcome.

Actually very risky to get the first batch ... Remember 7d first batch also have error issues

To some it is even more risky not to get first batch. Why? BBB virus is like drug addiction...you rather have a not 100% "working" drug rather than no drug.

Yea..they must be desperate for the upgrade already. Such that maybe they already dont care how much their 5D2 can fetch them already..any money from it is extra funds to the 5D3.

The price they sell their 5D2 and the price of 5D3(post by avsquare), don't understand ? But do have friend just want to buy the latest whether is DSLR, IPad etc but he really have deep pocket. For me, just wait.. 5D3 is good ( from spec.) but I think is over price.

Erm, I don't get what you want to say on the first part, but the last part you are talking about is the deadly BBB virus we are talking here. New release, just dump the old one and buy the new one. And yes, you need to have a deep enough pocket for that

Ya, maybe is the "deadly BBB" virus..haha..I mean they dump their 5D2 around $2K but the 5D3 is like $5.5K ( your post for Jap RRP, and street price still like $5K+), IMHO if 5D3 is selling $4K ( like the 5D2 launch or D800 price) then is reasonable to dump your 5D2. The gap is just too big.
Anyway, when the virus attack, we will just go for it :sweat:
