$4,881 for grey set? Then maybe the $4,999 I joked about earlier may come true then. Haha..

Remember, JPY$356,000 in Japan, and I still believe it won't be too far from this. I am guessing maybe SGD$500 cheaper after FX conversion...

This is called self-fulfilling joke

the pricing on the bodies easily separates the professionals from amateurs/hobbyists..

Not really.. haha.. there are some people who are amateurs/hobbyists will still buy it.
To some of them, pricing is not too much a concern for them. Likewise, those who needs it will buy.

i'll tend to agree, for a pro usually the money you make from photography will pay for your gears unlike for amateurs/hobbyist it will come from your other income or savings which may for some will be discourage to buy. unless of course if you're rich and can afford and money is not an issue.

Ok la.... buying a 5DIII is cheaper than buying a car. That is if a car is not absolutely necessary. That's what I told myself LOL. Part of the money I saved through public transport shall go to a camera. :bsmilie:

Is it me or are the days this month longer than usual? :p

I told myself something similar after deciding to cancel my Japan trip due to leave schedule issue. Since can't go holiday this year, the money shall go into an upgrade from my 7D...

"...Time goes by, so slowly, and time can do soo much....."

Looking forward to 7dmk2 out to replace my 5dmk2. 
How often you shoot iso above 3200? At least not for me.
7dmk2 + efs 17-55 f2.8 IS Mk2 will be cheap and good!

if iso 3200 is as good as iso 1600 - statistically you will get better handheld shots with the mkIII. not forgeting a more superior focus system.

in the end i think is the number of pictures you shoot and will cherish - and what value you attach to them.

if taken care.. the camera can last u 3-5 (or more) yrs. :bsmilie: by that time.. can buy MK (x)
i bought my Mk II on the day it was available here. so its 3yrs + already... may be another 3-5yrs more. Mk IV could be out then... ;)
