maybe cos there's not that much improvement over the S602Z?

S5000 is cheaper and has some specs (longer zoom lens for one) which are better than the S7000.

Not sure if this is true, the salesperson from the Fujifilm booth at the PC show told me that the S20Pro is the replacement model for S602, not S7000.

As far as I know the S7000 is a replacement of the S602Z, while the S20Pro is the replacement for the S7000, with the new 4th Gen SuperCCD SR.

S20pro is 3meg DC and S7000 is a 6meg DC. I think they are for two difference market segment. IMHO 602 is a better build cam!

As for S5000, I think is more of a P&S DC for consumer. 600+ for a 10X zoom is not bad a price. Cheaper than Canon S1 & Panasonic FZ10 but w/o IS!

Happy shooting :blah:

S20pro and S7000 are both based on the S602z body, both are replacements of the S602z, one for more resolution, the S7000 (4th gen superccd HR) and the other for wider dynamic range, the S20pro (4th gen superccd SR).

Fuji took in much of user comments on the S602z body and did minimal modifications in both the S7000 and S20pro to improve the handling of these cameras over the S602z. Too bad, still no focus assist light.
