most lenses reach their optimal performance at around f8-f11!




except for 105 and 135DC... these lenses are meant for speed.
But.. but.. for 10mp DX size sensor, diffraction kicks in at about f/11..

It's when focused points of light, supposed to fall only in one pixel spill over into another pixel because of diffraction. So instead of getting the image crisp, it slightly softens the image. I would say that this is usually not quite noticeable...

Yo Bro,

I am also in the same dilemma, thinking between the 17-55 f2.8 and the 17-35 f2.8 nikon glasses and I have decided on the 17-35.

Just my thoughts.
