I just bought a lens too!(kit lens) ;p

BBB i'm waiting for my next L prime  too bad no year end bonus too. how does the 135 perform?

1370.

i think the 70-200 buy in jan. although dec looks like a good period too.

Congrats! U beat me to the draw of the ATM card!
Actually I'm also considering the 135L and 70-200 F4 (less than 1K!).
The F4IS version will suit me better except for the initial cost.
I tested the 135L and F4IS a few weeks back and I'm hooked. Both are some of the sharpest canon lens. Great colour, sharp sharp wide open.
I just hope that when Canon phases out the 70-200F4, the F4IS version will drop in price.
Now my turn for "which to get first"

135L has the advantage of working in low light without flash and bump up the iso. =D wich attracts me more than 70-200mm series.

which prime u planning to get? my roadmap is 35L, 85L and 135L.

its ideal if u have enough working distance. but if u do more half body and headshots, it's great. pictures are more contrasty and saturated but then its a L. :bsmilie:

i do more portraits so it works for me. the bokeh is smooth. but have to take care when shooting wide open cos easy to overexpose.

This thread is lens for beginner leh, you all talk about all the L lens, i sian already ar! Hahaha!

To Boredphuck: yeah 2 lens now, 18-55mm and 50mm

haha. time for u to catch up then. i was looking at the 70200 f/4 IS. only worry was the cost and whether i would utilise that 200 often for portraits or not. so i went with the 135. most probably will get the 70200 next mth or in jan.

i doubt the non IS version will get phased out. its a good entry level tele zoom.

hidden3, u're right too much L here. Ur better off not buying any at the moment, just borrow from BP and Xunjas. ;p
My first lenses were 35-80mm and the 50/1.8 only. Now I got a spare 18-55kit to go, but u already got urs....
The new 18-55IS kit is getting rave reviews this past week. Some amazing stuff.
Use your 2 lenses to the max, and look out for the upcoming EFS 55-250IS. If the 18-55IS can drop jaws, this new 55-250 may be simply amazing as well.

Would u believe it, I already have a 67mm Pro1 filter and extra Tamron center-pinch lens cap waiting for a 70-200F4. I wanna wait for the travel friendly sized EFS 55-250, and my bonus, before I decide.

then fate decrees u buy the 70200 first. if not your stuff all wasted. the 135 is 72mm leh.

the 55250 would be great for travel but u would need a monopod for those low light situation. don't think the IS can help if u shooting at night at 250mm.
