Yeah. cept that he "need to buy a lens, probably a all purpose zoom lens"maybe can consider 50 1.8?
actually i'm prefer 50 1.4
it looks very sharp in 1.8(50/1.4)
Here's the link from the Buy and Sell section. And no, I'm not the seller! Thinking of getting this for my gf. In the mean time, while I'm thinking, you can think abt it too! :bsmilie:

the usm will not help to stop motion. u need a fast lens with big aperture for this.
take your time then. u need lens with f/2.8 at least to capture stuff that you want to shoot. and most of the time have to be tele lenses.

I suggest just stick to the kit lens and shoot first. Buying equipment is something that will enter every newbie's mind. There is no point purchasing something for which you have no specific purpose for as yet. It's like buying a computer but you don't know what you're looking to use it for, whether it be visual media, gaming or simple document work.
i.e. Cost a friggin' bomb. :bsmilie:
Ya man, I was on a buy buy buy spree a few months back, bought 4 lenses. Then find that I don't use the lenses that often, end up selling 2 of them.

Not true. For outdoor sports, a f/4 lens will suffice most of the time.
fast lens? what is fast lens? pardon me again. and yeah i think i'll get a kit lens first, and if i'm sure then i'll get another one. will be getting 50mm/f1.8 too. in time to come.
Actually i was intending to get the EF-S 17-85mm IS USM Kit II lens but i decided to go for a Tamron F/2.8 17-50mm instead since some people told me F/2.8 was better.
