What is your next lens?

i think u meant the 55-300?

i'm actually the opposite. i have the DAL55-300 and i'm wondering if i should complete my WR collection with the DA50-200 WR. in case i need a lightweight medium zoom to supplement 16-50 or 18-55 on a trip.

Ah yes, 55-300 lol. If you need WR then 50-200 is fine, otherwise I think the 55-300 is seriously very light already imo.

Btw, the 8-16 does not have fisheye effect, does it?
No it doesnt. Just that when you shoot at 8mm and really close, can get abit of that fisheye feel imo.

nice lineup but will be damn expensive lor unless without star and make it like the Limited series small and nice. Hope to see a 24mm

DA LTD also not cheap lor :bsmilie:

i'll rather they make it Star or DFA-WR, not Ltd. i think WR is a very unique and competitive selling point for pentax.

Its not my style to "buy first..upgrade later" So i always save up and only aim for the best (Best to my definition).
Meaning to say.. If Im on Nikon I will only buy FX lenses. Canon- L lenses..Sony - Carl Zeiss/G lenses.

I have been using my kit lens (18-55) for quite sometime..about 2 years? Yea because those lenses are not cheap..Im just a hobbyist and more of a record photographer..so basically i shoot everything as and when i like.. but more interests in nature/wildlife.

I just got my 24-70..and if you ask me next lens...Then its going to be 70-400.

Wow 70-400 so long range man!!!! :O

Oh... For the near/far perspective, that is not really part of the fisheye effect.. :)

Rectilinear lenses are corrected for distortion but fisheye lenses are not, so actually, having fisheye distortion is undesirable for a rectilinear lens like the 8-16mm.. :)

A* 12 f5.6 or f8 pancake lens ;)

perhaps bigger than this lens a bit

Voigtlander SL 12/5.6 15/4.5

10mm, not 12! 12 is not wide enough! :bsmilie:

Tokina 28-70 f/2.8 AT-X Pro II, heard it's built like a tank :)

May have to sell some less-used stuff to make way, like 10-17FE

Why is 10-17 useless?

Why is 10-17 useless?

Didn't say it was useless. I said it was one of my less-used lenses because 1) Fisheye lenses shouldn't be used on every subject and 2) I don't compose too well with a fisheye.

tokina AT-X PRO 28-70mm F2.8 for PENTAX AF #46 | eBay

This is the original AT-X Pro based on the Angenieux design

BTW Tokina never makes lenses for Pentax because the optical design is shared with Pentax's lenses, e.g. 10-17, 12-24, 16-50, 50-135. No idea why they don't make the 11-16/2.8 for Pentax though - that would be a very popular lens I think

Yup, I know what you meant.
Some pple think its undesirable, I think its acceptable though.
It somehow gives me an option of FE-ish and Wide, Im not normal lol.
Depends on what you are taking and your style too.

Anyway, you cant use filter for this lens too, so it may not seem to be made for the pros.
Im not 1 so its fine lol. Just a hobby.

LoL..... Wei... I practical one lei... As much as it's rare, the price almost like sigma one.... No point la... Haha!! I looking at Tammy 28-75.... MAYBE! Must try the FA31 1.8 first.... LOL!!

I'd get the 12-35WR if it's released in the year...

I took a very long time to decide on what lenses to get, its not an easy process at all. There is a lot of trial and error, and you need a certain amount of time with each lens to familiarize yourself with it.

Each person has their own preferences - their willingness to stay with one focal length, to change lenses, their preference to travel heavy or light, what do they like to shoot, and last but not least the size of their wallet (or the kindness of their Financial Controllers).
