Generally, the British ones

Professional Photographer used to be very good around the time Steve Hynes was editor. I stopped the subscription sometime after he left, I'm not sure how it is these days.

i've never read professional photographer since i didn't really think the name applied to me.

anyways, i never liked amateur photographer, way too many adverts.

black & white photography is pretty good. generally the specialised ones are.

the others are fine, like practical photography, DCM, etc..... but i'm so tired of camera reviews or lens reviews. i mean, they hardly review the ones i MIGHT care about, e.g. pentax lenses. :bsmilie: and i don't really care actually. they do have some very nice articles sometimes, that's for sure.

i bought Digital SLR Photography issue 02 at RM10, just across the border.

Actually practical photography (i gave my vote to this one) and i think digital photography are quite similar.

Sometimes they even have the same main articles, like how to shoot landscape, etc etc.

But yes, i love practical photography and bought quite a few to read and learn. love the expert columns on how to improve shots as well as the pp articles.

DIGITAL SLR PHOTOGRAPHY.
although only bought 1 issue from them which is "Getting started in Digital SLR photography"
The print and paper quality is of high standard...
btw i'm also interested in a m'sia DSLR mag... which i've browsed in borders. (forgot name of that mag)

digital slr photography (malaysia) edition...
thou it doesn't contain certain stuff from uk edition, still very informative and loads of diy methods.

Playboy is also a very good photography book. The pictures are very well taken. I've seen on video how they set up the studios for shooting. Creative and very professional.
Inside the magazine, you can find very good product ads, portraits, sometimes you get very nice landscape (w model in there) as well.
