What is your favourite DOMKE bag?

I am planning to get a f3x either in canvas (sand) or ballistic. Which will you guys advise on getting?

Whichever you prefer. Apart from material differences, the insides are all the same.

I got canvas because I like the way it wears after time.

Calebk, what color you bought?

I am thinking of ballistic (black matchs anything and the material is lasting) but the sand canvas looks nice too.

Those of you with F3, what color and material did you chose?

Have to consider a bit, it's not cheap for a bag.

I just bought a stealth reporter 100 but find it too boxy, though it's very well made. BBB

My favorite is an army $10 canvas slingbag. I have both the black and green. I just use a laptop padding envelope in it as protection.

Look around online.... some vendors are worth it.... even with shipping, you do save.

However dun have problem cleaning F3X due to the material and sand colour. Therefore I only go for black colour now.

Think there is a typo. Do you mean you have problem cleaning the sand canvas and will only go for black ballistic now?

There is black canvas too, by the way. I have the black canvas and I like it black 'cause it attracts little attention. When it wears, it turns a little dark grey in the areas where it does wear. That being said, most of the colours of the F3x don't attract attention too.

take note that the F3x is now available in ruggedwear (what they used to call waxwear). 3 of us ordered in from adorama.

always loved the waxwear look but only wanted the f3x design. they just released f6 and f3x in waxwear july this year. not sure if cathay started bringing them in yet.

think the F3x is the best all round.

but for travel, i wouldn't recommend putting your valuables as it is mostly velcro.

what's the difference with walkabout overseas and walkabout local?

its the same...

you are not checking it in.

i know some people put a foam cut-out at the top and the front to protect it from bumps, so that can help if you are concerned.

I think the main thing is the steel buckle that makes the regular F3x's main compartment more pilfer proof than the ruggedwear, more so overseas than here.

i've got a domke F5xB, it looks nice but it is a little small..haha. anyones has a big version of it?

The F3X is my fav, got an old one in sand and a black one... definitely in canvas

i would have to say the J-1

cos it's big and good

mine's handed down from my grandpa

after 10 odd years it's still working well

Your grandpa is a photographer, cool. I don't think many of us get to share hobby with grandpa.

Gary, the more I look at ruggedwear, the more I like the weathered look. Adorama no stock now. I thought they don't send to Singapore or don't accept Singapore credit card?

unfortunately no stock... we're on backorder. adorama poor la, never indicate got stock. should have just paid extra USD10 and bought from amazon. anyway, we're just waiting atm.

we're using a vpost-like service. if send direct to SG, shipping cost is very high.

so they are shipping for free to a US address and then the service provider will consolidate shipment to SG.

Amazon and B&H also no stock. So adorama accept Spore credit card but don't ship to Singapore? I also plan to use vpost actually. Is borderlinx the vpost-like service you mentioned? They better than vpost?

There is also comgateway.
