What is your favourite DOMKE bag?

So your main compartment only carries your cam with everything mounted? That's a lot of unused space!

The insert for the J2 is like box type where the flab within can be removed. So it divides the main compartment in 3 sections. I always like to mount my 24-105 in my bag cos I use that to cover events most of the time.. the side 2 sections (in the same main compartment) keeps my flash and a 300mm zoom. No unused space left :bsmilie:

Happy owner of just 3 x Domkes now :gbounce:

Need help to decide..ordering a domke F6 online. Cant decide between the sand color or the ballistic one.

Ballistic would be good, cause its easier to clean, less likely to get dirty(at least you cant see it..) more water proof as well.

Sand, hmm, i always thought its not bad, i think i may not like it tt much if i get it, cause always worrying about the canvas getting dirty, absorbing fluids, getting soiled, but at the same time i still keep thinking wad its like..haha.

So...other than buying both(haha), any comments from you guys..?

I really like the Canvas bags too especially the Domke F6, very nice layout if you're working with many lenses. The only problem is that the clasp is very hard to undo, but I understand its supposed to make theft harder. I'm also considering the Natgeo bags because it can carry lots of other things besides camera gear when you're travelling. How about getting the F6 and applying Nikwax Cotton Proof , http://www.nikwax.co.uk/en-gb/produ...ductid=48&activityid=-1&itemid=-1&fabricid=-1

THanks for the comments, i m definitely getting the F6, just cant decide between canvas or ballistic.hmnmm...

F4 ballastic
since it can take camera with grip and 70-200 attached
Just grab the camera from the bag and start shooting, I really like that :)

you have a domke bag already right ? is it canvas or ballistic ?
do you like the material ? if yes, go for it, else go for the other ;)

Can the F-2 fit a pro dslr body (with vertical grip) with a prime lens mounted, 2 other lenses, 1 rangefinder with lens mounted,a medium format camera and loads of film? I need a bag for that setup =/
Or do I need an F-1X?

just got my F6 yesterday..it is definitely the bag for me this time.haha...the J3 was a little too big. With the F6 everything fits snugly =).

Anyway i m not sure if this is something new, but anyway last time my J3, the buckles were metal coated with black paint or something like tt rite..but my F6 this time, has no coat..its just like dark matt stainless steel, so you dun get the scratching off of the paint you get what i mean..?okie just ignore me if it has always been like tt, but ya i think its great..now can use the buckles and wouldn't have to worry about the paint scrapping off..

i use black tape on the buckles..

and you mentioned dark matt stainless steel ? steel is silver in colour right? no?

haha...yeah. i realised that it didn't sound logical. But i am quite sure its not paint this time. Its like steel...not bright shiny steel...like dull stainless steel like tt..

maybe carbon steel :bsmilie: so did you get a sand color one?

i love my f802. holds my slr, a couple of lenses, holga, filters, film, batteries, flash, etc.

i've had to replace one of the rivets on the top handle with a bolt and nut as it popped out, aside from that, it's all good.

Just gotten my black F3X super compact by ordering online, helped me save a bit, but had to wait 2 weeks. It's smaller than what I imagined, and the metal clips are a bit hard to press, and I already got a bit of black paint scratched. Got to tape it up. Canvas is also not as soft as I thought it would be.

Overall found it to be the most ideal camera bag that I have come across, in terms of size for my current equipment, and not-so-boxiness. Strongly recommend online order for savings. ;)

The ring where the steel snaphook 'snaps' onto will get scratched quite bad.. mine is all scratched up, at first I thought not so good, now dun care ;) it's all part of the 'seasoned' look that the bag gets after awhile :D

No rust problem either, it seems to be ok. If you're worried you can probably try some black paint.

Thinking of another F-2 in black to go with my F-802. It's the perfect size for a 200/2.0 IS L with body attached..

Ok digging up a rather old thread.... I've got a Domke J series bag whose black straps have discoloured to brown due to exposure to sunlight. Anyone has an idea what kind of dye I should use to get it back to black?

Domkes are great and practical. The only design flaw in my opinion is the steel hook. Numerous times when I flung the flap the hook hits my cam or my face !
