You mean the RuggedWear? There would be a few ppl having that. Personally I have no preference for the RuggedWear; prefer to let the canvas age naturally.

I didn't use any additional hook..just slit one of the leg in between the 2 front metal clips of the bag..

It really depends on the bag model and how big the tripod is, and unfortunately that's the way with shoulder bags.

After 7 - 8mths of use, I still like the F803 Waxwear. I posted earlier a pictorial review of the F803 for my budget DSLR setup, here's 1 for my rangefinder equipment.

I just got a J-3 Ballistic from a CSer. Wanna check with you guys, whether ballistic bags can be thrown into the wash as well? I've machine washed a canvas F-2 before, but not very sure of the ballistic series.

Don't know about you, but I personally wouldn't throw a Domke into the wash, solely because of the metal buckles. Don't want them damaging the inside of my washing machine.

I machined washed my F-2 with a laundry bag, it went ok no issues.

Anyway for the Ballistic, I guessed that the water might penetrate the material and get contained within the padding. So I decided not to wash in the end. I just wipe it down hard with damp cloth.

Don't spin dry it so the buckle will not damage the machine. That was I did.

You can soak them in critic acid to remove rust. You can get critic acid from baking supply shop and probably pharmacy. Alternatively, rub a piece of lemon or lime over the rusty parts.
