Switched to Canon recently. I had so many problems with head clogging on my old Epson 750 that it was time to switch. The last time, Epson wanted $50 service charge + head replacement cost + additional charges... (maybe $100++)? Really not worth it. No more Epson, ever again.

same here, experienced clogging problems with Epson 750 and changed to Canon last year :) Still have a cheap epson 640 with 3rd party inks around the house for general printing.

p.s. I assume that current Epson printers do not leave pizza wheel tracks on the paper like the 750 did?

Epson 670 & photo stylus 830.

Canon really let me down

Maybe it got to do with the print head?

:bheart:

Same here...Tot Canon would have a monopoly for printers. Hmmm

For me, the general impression i have for epson is not very reliable. Break down easily.

HP has costly ink catridges.

Canon not much complaints. Or should i change my stereotyping? :D

I think the results quite accurate... most photographers bought a Epson printer because Epson printers was the best just a few years ago. HP and Canon smell Epson's smoke only... :bsmilie:

But now... the story is different liao. HP is caughting up slowly, and Canon have printers (eg i850/i950/S9000/i9100) that even Epson cannot match yet. So I think is like the saying "the tide is turning". Maybe if you ask the question "what printer will you buy the next time?" you will get another answer.

I upgraded from a Epson 750 to a Canon S9000 because the print head of the Epson keep on clogging until I sian  and Epson tell me to change the print head for $130. I was about to buy another printer liao... somebody told me to check out Canon. I was so surprised because I tot Canon printer is for home student projects only. Very shocked when I saw the latest printers! Damn good... now I'm a happi owner of a A3 Canon photo printer. Heheh! :gbounce:

Remember I cough out $1200 for the very first HP inkjet printer...think is the HP 500C...looking back...wonder why I did that...:( Moved to Epson but very noisy and like what all experienced...clogging!! Now back to HP....only cons is the expensive ink cartridge....guess the price to pay for new print head everytime you change cartridge.....

It seems that quite a number of you have or had a Epson 750.

I am using a Epson 900, having used a 870 and a 890 before.
I am a die hard fan of Epson just like I am faithfully with Nikon :)

If anyone is selling their Epson 750, do let me know.
My office may need one.

Printer users may also want to
see this !

wah...so many pple use Epson....no HP supporter??

Have ... I am a HP supporter ... every printer I buy is a HP ... their customer service is very good ...

I hate Epson... terrible... noisy and the print head clogs... broke down twice in a year.

hmm.. my epson 740.. has ink clog ... , thinking of changing another printer..

a.. anyone can recommand me a brand that can print good quality pictures??

Got a Canon MPC190 Print/Scan/Copy thingie, because exchange for Caltex points plus $100.

So far so good, fast and trouble-free, colour copy is quite accurate even on plain paper. Uses standard cartridges (but only Black + Colour) and even got a "compatible" ink from SLS, special offer $25 for 4 black + 2 colour cartridges.

I believe NTU is selling the i950 for $369 for students. offer till end of aug. any students here?

Interesting ... I hate my HP printer because I have to change the entire colour cartridge when only 1 colour runs out! Now I'm looking @ alternatives from Canon and Epson. ;)

Hey long time no see... gonna meet at TAB again?
:D

I need your help (urgent). I need to profile a person who's using an inkjet for photo printing. You got anyone in mind who's happy to be published... perhaps yourself? :bsmilie:

Cheers!

The trick to getting around the print head clogging problem is simply to print the head alignment thing every 2-4 weeks.

CK

is not a trick. dun get trick i would say. cleaning use ink. as a result the ink is drains up faster. in the end you will find that a large % of ink goes to cleaning the head, not printing. kindda silly. Epson printer is only recommended if you print very often.
