What is a proper Custom White balance photo for 720 IR?

Hi CS IR people,

new to IR, just had my old canon 350D converted to 720nm IR yesterday.

Tried out some test shots this morning. I read somewhere that we have to set CWB to a grassy picture. Did that and all the test shots came out black and white looking?

Any one has a good picture for setting custom white balance? also like to request a sample output of a picture that is supposedly customed well.

Thanks!

u wanna post ur pic here? easier for us to c wad went wrong.

if your leaves & grass are white, ur wb shd b right.

for R72, ur end result should look sth lyk this.

It depends on the lighting, but on a sunny day with good light, you should be getting a sepiaish picture with white foliage.

You might want to refer to the first picture at the top in the first post to get the gist of what you should be getting out of camera (assuming WB set right):

The image that KT1031 has attached has undergone some form of postprocessing, probably channel swap.

I havent had the chance to do any PS on the images, just really some test shots on this bright morning.

I think I'm actually having what you said, sepia-ish looking images with white leaves. Sorry but the small screen of the 350D makes previewing a little difficult.

I guess i'm going the right way. Nonetheless, im uploading the pictures for the gurus here to see if things are turning out correctly.

Thanks for the help :)

Ok, this is the first shot from a freshly IR converted 350D.

After pointing at a picture of leaves, and setting CWB, i got images like these.

appreciate the replies. Is this more or less the desired Unedited output from a 720nm converted camera?

Cheers

Looks right to me. :)
