I don't think Oly will ever make a 14-35mm f2.0 lens. Why bother? Who would pay for that? :dunno:

The vaporlense 14-35 f2 has been on their lense roadmap since 2005.

Are these facts or just more rumor? And if they are facts, why can't we read it on Olympus official web? Last time the rumor said new E-x will be introduced at Photokina 2006. Well, maybe this time it is true.

If one always say "Tomorrow it will rain." one WILL be right some times...

While we discussing lens wishlists, why not 12-70mm f2? That would be equal to 24-140mm film and would cover 90% of my needs.

That was what was implied at Photokina. And you'll never read stuff like that on official websites, it does not tease enough. It's all marketing, it makes you want it and cannot wait to buy it.

A 12-70mm f2 lens would be probably be too large and heavy; and much too expensive.

I had no idea. I would never pay for that lens. It is much like the 35-70mm zoom I once had back in the 1980's. I had it for a few weeks, than realized it is not good for anything really and sold it. I am not falling into that pit once again.

Heavy or not, all depends on what you are used to. I think it should weight less than 1 kg anyway. Biggest weight would be on the wallet I guess.
