why in the name of god did you bring ur 70-200 :dunno:

16-35 + 70-200 f4IS + 1D mk2. Thinktank speed racer belt system with bottle bag and Whip it out lens pouch. Try to go as light as possible and avoid bringing a heavy bag.Manfrotto 190 CXpro3 tripod + Arca-Swiss Z1 BH.(Leave in hotel room until sun goes down. I carry along panadol, flu medicine, plasters and water everywhere I go incase of emergencies since I am often in 3rd world countries like Cambodia. Make sure you don't have a fever before you arrive in the country by taking a panadol if you feel the slightest bit unwell.(Authorities WILL not hesitate to get you quarantined and s'pore embassy often cannot do anything to help you.)

You must be crazy LOL. The 200mm reach on ur 18-200 makes the 70-200 totally redundant. Why on earth did you bring your flash unit too?Shooting an event there or what?

When e answer this question, we need to also tell what was or is the purpose of the trip. What do we plan to shoot?

What we plan on doing dictates what camera we bring!

D80
Tamron 17-50 f2.8
Nikon 70-300 f4.5-5.6 VR

going to yunnan end of the month...
intend to bring:

5D mark 2
17-40
35/2
50/1.8
100/2.8 Macro

Mamiya 645AFD
55mm 2.8
80 2.8
150 3.5
2 film backs

I'm thinking should i bring the 24-105mm along

Extracted this from some other forum... What you bring depends on;

1. Whether you take photographs while you travel

or

2. Whether you travel to take photographs

Canon 450D
Tamron 17-50mm (mounted)
Canon 55-250mm
Circular polariser
Blower, brush
Lens tissues and fluid
Spare battery, charger
Extra CF card
Hoods

...all in a Lowepro Fastpack 250 (a great bag!)

most of u will take along a zoom lens 200 or 300mm alone, normally use to take what type of pics

i think a prime is optimum for trips

so light and easy

just a quick check, anyone bring their external flash overseas?

i used to bring flashes. But everytime i bring, only used once or twice.. abit wasted la..
but dont bring also scared it might need it.. hahah Just bring lo.

i'm the light traveller, cos I love shopping so my cam must be under 1kg ,all in + spare batteries. i can live with the compact as well.;) My travel pictures should not lose to most people carrying a boatload of stuff.
