What do you bring (photographic equipment) for travel

iPhone 3GS. in the pocket. of whatever i am wearing.

Guys,

Was just wondering, when you go travelling and say doing sight seeing, walking around the streets (be it day or night), say if i've my blackrapid, would you guys use it while walking down the streets? (am using 50D gripped w say a 24-105). Any precautions? As i don't use any neckstraps (still in box), its either the blackrapid or just the handstrap for me.

Don't ever try your method of carrying a camera in Italy, it WILL be stolen inside a few minutes. The thieves there are thick as flies and unbelievably brazen and quick.

* Try to pack as light as possible
* Digital cameras tend to travel well
* Protect your equipment with a durable case
* You’ll want to bring a light and sturdy tripod

Most people think of using a camera when traveling, and many photographers trace their obsession with photography to the moment they became intrigued by shots they had taken when traveling or on vacation.

Wow everyone is so pro and bring many many lenses! But nobody mentioned the good old camera phone. One time I went Bangkok, brought my Oly E500 with kit lens, but forgot battery charger (><) so in the end most pictures were taken with my Sony Ericsson K710 or 770 or something like that. Zzzz.
