What camera bag do you use?

So MarkersNg, many people here share on the options Liao take your pick.

End of r day , last piece of advise is always try the bag physically before buying it. Remember u r buying a bag to lug your stuff, protect them and more importantly , allow u to retrieve your camera stuff easily. Any bag that fulfills these 3 should be good enough ; another lesson is more pockets doesn't mean better ; they have to be useful.

And if u don't mind pre-loved ; wait patiently on B n S for the billinghams to appear. I recently hooted a almost brand new Hadley pro with shoulder strap (actually mint) for <$300 , not very far off the budget.

Does the Timbuk2 open noisily or is there a Velcro silencer?

Didn't really notice the noise, but there is velcro so I guess there will be some velcro opening sound when opening up the bag.

I found Lowepro's Pro Messenger to be nicer and suits me better than my previous bags.
The shoulder padding is much better than Lowepro's. And since it's tall, the bag can accommodate 7D with 70-200 f/2.8 IS vertically.

When travelling, I can bring it to cabin and store it underneath the seat in front of me.

I think a proper camera bag is important to protect your gears. A sling type, those that sling across, is better in my opinion.

However, the bag does attract unwanted attention if you travel to remote areas, similar to an exposed big DSLR. Sometimes, I like to use a normal bag to keep the camera from public view if you are not using it.

Without the bag, there will be occasions you just regretted not bringing that extra.

That's why I like the idea of using normal messenger bags to keep my camera. If you worry about protection, just get those camera insert that can fit your bag. At least on the outside, it doesn't shout "camera inside". :bsmilie:

Just to contribute here.. recently came across a brand "maxpedition", I haven't bought the bag yet. Will have a look at a physical sample which a friend owns before deciding to order.. I like how the sling bags are for lefties So effectively the camera can be sling to the right while all ur gear are on the left. So I pressure better balance. Most design dimension are big enough for compact, mirrorless and entry dslr bodies and have space for a 1L nalgene bottle. Design looks like for either sling or waist. Worth a look for those intending to travel with only one body and maybe only two lens sort of setup.

When oversea, yes, thief or robber is always a worry. So if it make yourself less of a target from camera thieves, why not?

Locally? It just spoil my style/look if seen carrying a geeky looking camera bag..... LOL..... :bsmilie::bsmilie:

Because people will think you are crazy when you go around shouting "Camera Inside!"

Anyway, it is up to individual. Some don't like the nerdy boxy camera bag, some don't mind, some like that design. For me... I want a big bag to carry all my barang barang, and is too cheap to buy branded stuff, so I scout for China made cheapo bag, that is of reasonable quality.

Good for you! I use the Uprise 48 quite a bit (got it second hand from a bro here). Great bag. If you see what I put in the bag... you would know how many things can go in without a problem (it can carry even more things than my Backpacker BBK-4 sling bag.)

My bag is an oversized LV Speedy which can fit in a bag organizer where I placed my DSLR in. Problem is, the bag's material is suedue so it's extremely heavy
But as a lady, I needed something stylish to carry around lol
Times like this that I wish I'm a witch then can use Undetectable Extension Charm on my clutches etc.

Am thinking of getting a Passport Sling but the colors cannot make it.
I did find some pretty camera bags for ladies but too expensive haha!
