those using Crumplers...do u feel the series used in MDH kinda...destroy ur polo t shirts? as in it makes the wool fluffy in a way..pulls out the material on the polo t shirts...due to the material used...
doesnt have any effect on t shirts..only on polo t shirts..

Then any bags to recommend besides a Billingham which is out of my budgetYup, that's why I gave up on Crumpler MDHs long ago. Their camera inserts (Crumpler Haven) are still great and I use them a lot though

Hmm, what's your budget around and the size u r looking at ? Maybe we can start from there.
I understand your point ; when I first started I couldn't get pass the pain of understanding why people pay so much for a camera bag ; that was until one day in a spur of the moment paid for a Hadley pro with Mr Chan. now years later ; after trying probably all the commonly known names and even branded (Gucci etc)(curious ma) I'm still sticking to Billingham.
Not to say other brands are not good ; but the design down to the size and depth of the pockets work for me in the Billingham
Around the size of a 7MDH and budget around $220
heh..one reason why i ditch MDH series years back.Yup, that's why I gave up on Crumpler MDHs long ago. Their camera inserts (Crumpler Haven) are still great and I use them a lot though
For my usual casual lighting shooting needs, I will normally just use a XS size Timbuk2 messanger bag. And I had recently added a Timbuk2 camera insert for the added protection. Able to carry a DSLR body, 2-3 small lenses, some small accessories and a 10" tablet. In a pinch I am able to squueze up to 1 DSLR body, 2 lenses, a flash, a small Sirui tripod, a 10" tablet and some small accessories. What I like about it, is that it doesn't look like a camera bag, it's just like any casual messenger bag, and it is not bulky to carry around.
Other than that, I have a Crumpler 5 million camera bag for those times when I need to carry more and another old Crumpler camera backpack which I had not used for quite a while as it is quite bulky.
