CP and East Gear is at Peninsula Plaza.
So is Konota and Bata Shop.
Inside the Peninsula building itself, you will be able to see a newly renovated big signboard BATA SHOP.
KONOTA shop is just opposite BATA shop, very near to the outside carpark. Look for a old gentlemen and ask him that you want omnibounce for F32X.
Price is $28 fix, non negiotable.

This lobang was introduce by Snowspeeder.

Saw on your list you have both the telecoverter and the closeup lens. Like to check with you that with both of them combined, what are the results in terms of:

a) Focusing distance (at 200mm) from lens to subject?
b) Compared with using the closeup lens alone, do you get a larger magnification with (a)?

Hi Snowspeeder and Bryan
a) i)Focusing distance (at 200mm) with Sony VCL-3358 closeup len, you can take the photo 30 cm away from the object.
ii) Focusing distance (at 200mm) with Sony VCL-3358 closeup len and Sony VCL-HGD1758 teleconverter, you can take the photo 50~60 cm away from the object.

b) There will be no larger magnification even if we install the teleconverter cos
teleconverter act as an longer distance range for closeup lens only.

The advantage for this combination is good as we will not scare the insect and butterfly away when taking marco mode.
Also, as both are high grade lens, the picture quality is

thanks for the info...

Thanks for the valuable input. My current dilemma is that I have to spent $355 for the teleconverter just to obtain a further distance of 20-30 cm away from the subject (as compared to using the closeup lens alone). Not certain if that $$ is justifiable. I took a close up shot of a bee resting on a flower just the other day with only the close up lens, and it did not even bother about my existence. Perhaps I should first try on other insects as well before deciding.

get the Olympus TCON17 1.7x tele. It costs ~$140 only and offers as good if not better quality than the Sony one. you'll need to get a step down ring (~$10) though as TCON17 is 55mm threaded.

u will definitely need the teleconvertor to close up on mpenza's avatar... if u too near... prepare to have more den purple CA over the pics... :bsmilie:

mpenza, will the tcon17 cause any vignetting? & btw since the lens is 55mm den wouldn't there be a dark ring?

From what I know the TCON17 is inferior to the Sony one in terms of quality...unless you've tried both already.

y u wanna buy a skylight filter when u already have a UV filter???

anyway, the main filter on my F828 is the skylight filter, the guy at CP tell me to use this with the F828 instead of the UV filter...

My B+W Skylight filter caused a red cast on my pics all the time. You prefer your pics that way?

I do own a 2nd hand B300 which is the old model of TCON17. It vignetts all the way even at fullzoom..what i do is that i will enable smartzoom (5M pixel resolution) to remove the vignetting. Luckily sony has this feature... :blah:

Haven't do a full test on it yet. Will do one on one of this days.

Ahaha...I thought F828 have 4 colour ccd in attempt to reproduce the true colour of the image...with a skylight, kind of waste the extra feature of the CCD rite?
