I wanted a wide lens which is value for money lor. 17-35 is abit mid range liao once mounted on a DSLR.

However, the option of using panaromic softwares to compensate the loss of wide angle......

At the end, I guess it is just our curiousity and show off mentality. Coz I feel betta when my cam is the latest and most likely the photos is alot betta too.....

Time to sell off all my old camera stuffs liao......

Actually, 12-24 & 17-35 quite different leh ... I use 17-35 more for general shots, as u said, for landscapes u would want a wider lens ...

So, i see 17-35 as a replacement for my 18-70, but that's just me lah ... some pple will miss the 35-70 range, but I have a 50mm for that, so doesn't make a difference for me ...

Ok another question, do you think i should sell my 50mm f1.8 and replace it with f1.4?

Unless u need that extra 2/3 of a f/stop, not necessary ... sharpness almost the same, price 2.5 times more than the 1.8 ... But then, I have a 1.4 lah and that extra 2/3 of a stop has helped me in more than a few low light situations ;p

I am happy with my f/1.8....big deal about the stop if you are using it for portrait. Save up the money for a SB-800 lah. That's what I did

talk later liao.. going to buy some satay liao..;p hahahahaha:bsmilie:

Actually, it depends lah ... i use it mostly for portraits of my daughter ;p When i bring her out, lighting very unpredictable, and I don't like to use flash on her ... So it helps sometimes ...

But I do agree the extra 2/3 stop is not worth the extra cost ;p

At first I thought my usable lenses should be 20mm 50mm and the 80-200mm.

Coz of the trend in DSLR, now I think of 12-24, 50mm, 135mm or 180mm. If possible, 35-70mm f/2.8 zoom lens too.

I just need to tame the urge of upgrading liao.....it is a sickness

Kajang is the place famous for Satay in KL or the state of Selangor.

Nasi Kerabu is the name for the way the rice cooked/served in Kelantan.

Lemang is during Hari Raya, you see those bamboo tubes burning on roadside......inside it, it is wrapped in banana leaves. Served with Curry chicken from the kampung.

Wah, you really City boy :sticktong
