Hi

I wana check with MF experts here.

What are non AI lenses? From what I read, the metering part is done differently is it?

I would be using it on D700 and on m 4/3 bodies.

Thanks in advance!

I finally got my D700! so here are a few shots by the 5.8cm 1.4 Pre AI

tho they re both pretty close in specifications, the output is completely different so i just carry both around with me anyway.

Ben, congrats on your new D700.

I'm sure you will enjoy your lenses even more :)

Bro, with the D700, all your manual lenses feels like you just got new lenses again rite? =)

yea, quite like. suddenly you see vignetting, corner softness, new perspectives. i find they all work very very nicely on fullframe. now just gotta get the 85 1.4 ais =P

50mm f/1.8 AIS pancake
Only had this on the camera when cycling on Ubin
Freaked out when the family of boars came towards us
It rained and I put my camera into a 7-11 plastic bag (bought bottled water)
I think they assumed the crinkling sound meant food ... which also means some irresponsible people have fed them repeatedly before
Fumbled to MF, my friend waved his hands to distract them. Pleasantly surprised that it all turned out well, pretty darn sharp for a beat-up old lens

how far were you?? 600mm + 1.4 tc + d80 = 1260mm!

Far enough, but yet near enough for me to grab the shot uncropped :)

Here is another D80/1.4TC/600mm AIS shot, some time ago, when I was still pretty much a regular visitor to the zoo
